About the Programme
Cybersecurity is one of the most rapidly growing sectors in the UK and a critical area for protecting digital infrastructure and information. Our funded Skills Bootcamp in Cybersecurity gives you the opportunity to build job-ready skills at no cost, whether you’re from a non-technical background or have basic tech knowledge.
This 16-week intensive programme is structured to transform your potential into professional capability through hands-on labs, real-world simulations, and career-readiness training. You’ll gain foundational knowledge of digital systems, networks, cyber threats, and security frameworks followed by specialised training in defensive and offensive security.
Led by cybersecurity practitioners, this programme prepares you for roles in Security Operations Centres (SOC), network security, and entry-level cyber analyst roles. You’ll receive expert mentorship and training that aligns with industry standards, giving you the confidence and competence to begin your cybersecurity career.
With a blend of theoretical learning and scenario-based labs, the bootcamp also provides employability coaching, mock interviews, and access to cybersecurity communities for continuous growth.
This hybrid programme offers flexibility while maintaining face-to-face support and real-time learning. The course includes 15 weeks of virtual cybersecurity training, held 3.5 hours/day (Mon–Fri), and a final 16th week of in-person employability skills training.

How does it work?

To be eligible for programme, you need to fulfil these requirements:- Candidates must be 19+ (as of the 31st of August 2023)
- You have the legal right to live and work in the UK
- You are interested in a career in technology and are able to demonstrate the same
- You are available and ok to undergo training for 16 consecutive weeks
- You possess computing equipment and steady internet connection to undergo the training
What skills will you learn during the 16 weeks?
Week 1 – Week 5
Covers digital literacy, operating systems (Windows, Linux, macOS), computer hardware basics, and introductory networking concepts. Introduces internet protocols, cloud computing, and the software development lifecycle. Includes basic programming principles, digital safety, research techniques, and technical documentation fundamentals.
Week 6 – Week 10
Focuses on the cybersecurity landscape, including threat types, attack vectors, and security frameworks such as NIST and ISO 27001. Explores information security principles like the CIA triad, risk management, compliance, and ethics. Introduces networking essentials including TCP/IP, routing, switching, firewall configuration, VPNs, IDS/IPS systems, and wireless network security.
Week 11 – Week 14
Covers secure operating system configuration, user authentication, access control, and patch management. Includes secure coding practices, OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities, and basic web application security. Provides hands-on exposure to SIEM tools, threat hunting, security monitoring, penetration testing, vulnerability assessment, and responsible disclosure techniques.
Week 15 – Week 16
Introduces cloud, IoT, AI, and blockchain security fundamentals. Emphasises technical documentation, incident response simulation, and effective communication in security roles. The final in-person week is focused on CV preparation, job search strategies, mock interviews, and workplace-readiness training.

*Organisations are required to contribute 10–30% towards the upskilling costs for current employees if the learner is referred by the employer.
A 16-week hybrid training programme designed to help you launch a career in cybersecurity. Includes 15 weeks of technical training and 1 week of employability training.
UK residents aged 19+ who are eligible to work in the UK and committed to learning cybersecurity skills.
This is a hybrid programme online learning is supported by a final in-person training week in York & North Yorkshire.
Your application was rejected as you have not met one of our programmes criteria’s OR not scored the minimum number of points on a test in the application cycle. Please ensure that you review the eligibility criteria on the Programme page. Common reasons for why you may have been rejected are because on the application you have selected an option that means you:
• Do not live in the area
• Will be in full-time education or training at the start of the programme
• Do not have the right to live and work in the UK
• Are not available for the full duration of the programme
• Are not able to start a job straight after the programme is complete
• Did not score the minimum number of points on one of our tests/tasks to move onto the next stage

After you have successfully completed our training, we provide placement assistance by helping schedule interview(s) with hiring employer(s)
Entry-level roles such as Junior Security Analyst, SOC Tier 1 Analyst, Network Security Technician, and IT Security Support.
Yes, you can apply directly through our website as a self-referred learner. However, in line with government guidelines, no more than 50% of total learners across our Skills Bootcamp pathways can be self-referred, regardless of demand.
