About the Programme

“Championing Sustainability in the Workplace” is a fully funded, 6-week programme designed to empower individuals to contribute to environmental change within their organisations. Delivered by Primed Talent and funded by the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, the course equips learners with both the knowledge and practical skills needed to make a meaningful impact.

How does it work?

  • Check your Eligibility

    To be eligible for the programme in Kensington and Chelsea, you must meet the following requirements:
    • Be 18 years or older
    • Have the legal right to live and work in the UK
    • Be currently unemployed, underemployed, or seeking a career change
    • Be motivated and committed to completing the full 6-week programme
    • Have basic digital literacy skills (e.g., using a computer, browsing the internet)
    • Reside in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC)
    • Access to a computer or Wi-Fi is required — support will be provided by Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team (LWNT) for RBKC residents who need it

Legislation, Policies, and Frameworks

Environmental laws and compliance, Council and government policies on sustainability and ISO 14001 and other sustainability standards

Sustainability Strategies for the Public Sector

Sustainable procurement and supply chains, Waste management and circular economy in councils and Energy efficiency and decarbonisation in public buildings

Carbon Footprint Reduction and Energy Management

Understanding carbon emissions in the workplace, Green energy and renewable initiatives in government buildings and Transport and mobility solutions

Community Engagement and Behavioural Change

Encouraging sustainability culture in public sector workplaces, Effective communication strategies for sustainability and Stakeholder engagement and collaboration

Data, Reporting, and Measuring Sustainability Impact

Sustainability reporting frameworks, Tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) for sustainability and using data analytics to drive sustainable decision-making

Do I need prior experience?

No prior sustainability or technical experience required.

Yes. If you don’t have the necessary infrastructure in place, the Lancaster West Neighbourhood Team (LWNT) can provide support.

Will I receive a certification?

Yes, a course completion certificate from Primed Talent and support to attempt the IEMA certification.
