About the Programme
Are you looking to build practical cyber security skills and start or progress your career in one of the UK’s growing digital sectors?
The Cyber Security Technician Skills Bootcamp is a 10-week programme designed to develop the practical knowledge, technical skills and professional behaviours needed to protect systems, networks and data from modern cyber threats.
Throughout the programme, you will develop hands-on skills across Security Operations Centre (SOC) practices, network and endpoint security, vulnerability assessment, incident response, digital forensics, cloud security, identity and access management, threat intelligence and Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).
Rather than focusing only on theory, you will learn through instructor-led sessions, guided cyber security labs, practical demonstrations, industry scenarios, AI-assisted exercises and independent research.
You will gain experience with cyber security tools and platforms used for network monitoring, vulnerability assessment, security operations, digital forensics and threat intelligence. You will also explore how AI and automation can support cyber defence while learning to use these technologies responsibly.
The programme culminates in an employer-focused Capstone Project, giving you an opportunity to apply your skills to a practical cyber security challenge while building your professional portfolio.
Alongside your technical learning, you will develop Professional Skills, Employability Readiness support where applicable, and Safeguarding & Prevent awareness.
The programme is aligned with the Skills England Cyber Security Technician Occupational Standard – OCC0865.
